According to Fiskeritidende, Danish fishermen have landed more crab (taskekrabber) in the Kattegat and Skagerrak so far this year than in the same period last year, with landing values rising in both areas; North Sea volumes are slightly below last year, but higher prices have still delivered growth in landing value.
Fiskeritidende reported on 6 November 2026 that Danish fishermen have caught more crab (taskekrabber) in the Kattegat and Skagerrak this year than last year.
Since the start of the year, fishermen have landed 73 tonnes in the Kattegat and 47 tonnes in the Skagerrak, up 46% and 38% respectively on the same period last year.
Landing values have risen accordingly. The landing value of crab in the Kattegat rose to DKK 4.1 million this year, compared with DKK 2.4 million in the same period last year; in the Skagerrak, the value rose from DKK 1.4 million last year to DKK 2.6 million.
The situation is different in the North Sea: crab catches there are slightly below last year, but higher prices have still lifted the landing value from DKK 5.4 million to DKK 5.9 million.
