Argentina extends fishing vessel modernization incentives to vessels more than 60% rebuilt domestically

Argentina's Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, through Resolution No. 190/2026, has extended the incentives for specific vessel replacement under the fishing vessel modernization regime to fishing vessels more than 60% rebuilt domestically.

Argentina's Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has extended the incentives for specific vessel replacement under the fishing vessel modernization regime to fishing vessels more than 60% rebuilt domestically. The measure brings such rebuilt vessels within the provisions allowing increased fishing capacity under regulated conditions.

According to Pescare, the measure was established by Resolution No. SAGYP 190/2026, signed by Sergio Iraeta on September 30 and published in the Official Gazette on October 5. The resolution expands the scope of application of Articles 5, 6 and 7 of Resolution No. SAGYP 194/2019; the percentages and conditions set out in those articles remain unchanged, and the change lies in the range of vessels eligible for the regime.

According to the report, Article 5 provides for an increase of up to 1%, but the material provided by the news source breaks off at this point, without giving the full content of that article or the specific provisions of Articles 6 and 7.
