Skretting launches three new early-stage shrimp feeds, debuting first in Ecuador

On October 30, 2026, Skretting announced the addition of three early-stage shrimp nutrition products—InVita, Ignis and Optiline Starters—to its LifeStart product line. They will launch first in the Ecuadorian market, covering feeding from larval to grow-out stages.

On October 30, 2026, Skretting announced the addition of three early-stage shrimp nutrition products to its LifeStart product line: InVita, Ignis and Optiline Starters. The three products will first join Skretting's Ecuador portfolio, covering feeding from the larval stage through the grow-out stage.

According to Skretting, InVita and Ignis are used to supplement dry feed during the early development stages of shrimp, while Optiline Starters supports shrimp throughout the process from hatchery to grow-out.

InVita is a liquid feed supplement developed for use alongside Skretting's Elevia dry feed, from larval to early post-larval stages. The company says its floating sponge gel beads remain in the water column, promoting feeding and providing moisture to the gut. "InVita is designed to help hatcheries move toward a new way of feeding: simpler, more controllable and designed for the future," Eamonn O'Brien, Skretting LifeStart Global Product Manager, said in a press release.

InVita is produced in Ecuador using the "Factory in a Box" production platform originally developed in Belgium. Its development and validation process included more than 15 trials, over 100 live tests, and validation studies conducted in Ecuador, Vietnam, Belgium and Mexico.

Ignis is made from concentrated, pasteurized Calanus finmarchicus, a marine copepod harvested from the Norwegian Sea, and is also used to supplement dry feed. Developed by Skretting in partnership with Zooca Calanus, the product is designed to promote feeding during the shrimp's transition to the post-larval stage, combining Skretting's nutritional expertise with Zooca's processing capabilities.

Optiline Starters supports shrimp from hatchery to grow-out, combining stage-specific nutrition with EDGEOS PhytoComplexes, a blend of plant-derived bioactive compounds developed in partnership with Nutreco Exploration. Skretting says these ingredients are designed to support shrimp growth and feed efficiency. "The nutritional decisions made at the starting point of shrimp growth can influence performance throughout the entire production cycle," said Carolina Kourroski, Skretting Latin America Marketing Director.

Ignis is already available in some markets. InVita and Optiline Starters will launch first in Ecuador, followed by additional countries.
