New Mangalore Port raises container ship-related fee concessions, 35% relief for feeder vessels

The New Mangalore Port Authority has announced an increase in the concessions on vessel-related charges (VRC) for container ships, under which feeder liner container vessels can receive a 35% concession, with the concession standards for mainline container ships also published within the revised incentive structure.

The New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) announced on November 4, 2026, the implementation of increased concessions on vessel-related charges (VRC) for container ships. The port authority framed this adjustment as a measure to attract more container cargo flows and enhance the port's competitiveness among India's major maritime gateways.

Under the revised incentive structure, feeder liner container vessels are eligible for a 35% fee concession; mainline container ships are also included in this revised concession framework and receive corresponding concession treatment.

The adjustment applies to vessel-related charges incurred by container ships at the port, with the concessions given in the form of rate discounts, and feeder vessels and mainline vessels applying different tiers according to their respective categories.
