Russian National Pavilion Marks 10th Anniversary at Qingdao Seafood Expo with Record 60+ Exhibitors

On October 28, 2026, China Fisheries and Seafood Expo opened in Qingdao, with the Russian National Pavilion marking its 10th anniversary, featuring over 1,600 square meters of exhibition space and more than 60 exhibitors, both records for the pavilion.

On October 28, 2026, China Fisheries and Seafood Expo opened in Qingdao. The Russian National Pavilion marks its first decade since establishment at this year's expo. During the official tour of the exhibition, the organizers congratulated the Russian organizers and exhibitors at the Russian section in Hall B7, with the tour route beginning at the Russian section as usual.

Leading the Chinese government delegation was Ma Youxiang, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former Vice Minister of Agriculture. Welcoming the delegation on the Russian side were Kirill Kolonchin, Director of the Russian Federal Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO), Alexey Gaidukov, Head of the VNIRO Russian-Chinese Cooperation Center, Sergey Mikheev, Representative of the Federal Agency for Fisheries in China, and Ivan Fedisov, General Director of Expo Solutions Group, the organizer of the Russian National Pavilion.

During the tour, the delegation tasted products made from Alaska pollock roe at the tasting area of the Pollock Catchers Association, viewed live crab aquariums at the Russian Crab Group stand, and sampled crab products at the Antey Group stand. After the tour, delegation members also visited the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping stand.

According to the Expo Solutions Group press service, in its 10th anniversary year the Russian National Pavilion set new records: exhibition space exceeding 1,600 square meters and more than 60 exhibitors from across Russia. Participants include fishing and crab harvesting and processing companies, major Russian seafood distributors, logistics companies, and suppliers of fish oil, fishmeal, feed and feed ingredients, as well as industry associations and organizations.

Fedisov outlined plans to further expand participation and organize an even larger national exhibition area at next year's expo, which marks its 30th anniversary. He said that over the decade the Russian National Pavilion has operated in Qingdao, trade conditions, consumer expectations and the structure of the global seafood market have changed considerably, but the most important part of relations with the Chinese side has not changed: to do business in the Chinese market, one must be present here, understand partners, and build cooperation step by step. He also said the Russian National Pavilion is not a venue for one-off product displays but a promotion system built on years of work that delivers results for participants, "and the current records in area and exhibitor numbers are proof of that."

Three days of business meetings, presentations and negotiations with foreign partners will also take place during the expo. This year's expo specially organized a delegation of Chinese retailers to come and learn about Russian products.
