Russian Federal Fisheries Agency publishes 2027 catch volumes for non-TAC aquatic species and opens applications for fishing rights contracts

On November 2, the Russian Federal Fisheries Agency (Rosrybolovstvo) issued a notice opening the application process for fishing rights contracts for aquatic species without a total allowable catch (non-TAC) for 2027; the annex to the notice lists each species, fishing area and corresponding catch volume.

The Russian Federal Fisheries Agency (Росрыболовство) issued a notice on November 2, 2026, launching the application and conclusion process for 2027 fishing rights contracts for aquatic species without a total allowable catch (non-TAC). Under current rules, such notices must be published before November 1 each year; this year's notice was published on November 2.

The notice invites interested companies to submit applications to conclude fishing rights contracts for aquatic species without a total allowable catch. The submission channel differs by fishing area: applications for marine fishing are submitted to the regional administrations of the Russian Federal Fisheries Agency, while applications for fishing in rivers, lakes and reservoirs are submitted to local government authorities.

According to Fishnews reporters, the annex to the notice lists the aquatic species covered by this procedure, the fishing areas and their catch volumes. The annex includes figures for herring, sardine-iwashi (sardine), walleye pollock and other species in the West Bering Sea zone.

Previously, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture approved the 2027 total allowable catch (TAC), the most important document for organizing fishing operations.
