Japanese Tonkatsu Chain Matsunoya Launches "Double Portion Fair" on October 21: Fried Oysters, Karaage and Other Sides Doubled at Unchanged Prices
Japanese tonkatsu specialty restaurant Matsunoya will launch its "Double Portion Fair" from 15:00 on October 21, doubling the side dish portions of 8 loin tonkatsu and fried food combo sets at no extra charge—fried oysters from 2 to 4 pieces and karaage from 3 to 6 pieces.
Japanese tonkatsu specialty restaurant Matsunoya has announced that it will hold its "Double Portion Fair" (倍量フェア) from 15:00 on October 21. The campaign is planned for the autumn appetite season; during the promotion, for set meals combining popular loin tonkatsu with fried foods, the side dishes paired with the loin tonkatsu will have their portions doubled at unchanged prices.
The campaign covers a total of 8 set meals combining loin tonkatsu or extra-thick-cut ribeye loin tonkatsu with fried oysters, fried horse mackerel, fried shrimp, or authentic karaage.
Specifically, for fried oysters, the "Loin Tonkatsu & Fried Oysters (2 pieces) Set Meal" will increase from 2 to 4 pieces at a maintained price of 1,030 yen (tax included); the "Extra-Thick-Cut Ribeye Loin Tonkatsu & Fried Oysters (2 pieces) Set Meal" will likewise increase the fried oysters to 4 pieces at a maintained price of 1,290 yen (tax included).
For fried horse mackerel, the "Loin Tonkatsu & Fried Horse Mackerel (1 piece) Set Meal" will increase from 1 to 2 pieces at a maintained price of 1,030 yen (tax included); the "Extra-Thick-Cut Ribeye Loin Tonkatsu & Fried Horse Mackerel (1 piece) Set Meal" will increase from 1 to 2 pieces at a maintained price of 1,290 yen (tax included).
For fried shrimp, the "Loin Tonkatsu & Fried Shrimp (1 piece) Set Meal" will increase from 1 to 2 pieces at a maintained price of 970 yen (tax included); the "Extra-Thick-Cut Ribeye Loin Tonkatsu & Fried Shrimp (1 piece) Set Meal" will increase from 1 to 2 pieces at a maintained price of 1,250 yen (tax included).
For authentic karaage, the "Loin Tonkatsu & Authentic Karaage (3 pieces) Set Meal" will increase from 3 to 6 pieces at a maintained price of 990 yen (tax included); the "Extra-Thick-Cut Ribeye Loin Tonkatsu & Authentic Karaage (3 pieces) Set Meal" will increase from 3 to 6 pieces at a maintained price of 1,350 yen (tax included).
Matsunoya states that tax-included prices are the same for dine-in and takeout, with miso soup charged separately only for takeout. Matsunoya said: "Please enjoy your familiar loin tonkatsu with generous, doubly crispy fried sides together with delicious rice."
